Rome, 27 March 2014 – Roberto Colaninno, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Piaggio Group and Chairman of Alitalia-Compagnia Aerea Italiana, has been invested as an Officer of the Légion d’Honneur by His Excellency Alain Le Roy, France’s Ambassador to Italy.
The investiture was held yesterday afternoon at Palazzo Farnese, Rome. Looking back over the eventful career of Roberto Colaninno (“a great Italian entrepreneur, whom everyone respects and esteems”), Ambassador Le Roy emphasised Mr Colaninno’s role in building cooperation between Alitalia and Air France: “This ceremony pays tribute to a convinced European and Francophile widely admired by the French business community, who, as chairman of Compagnia Aerea Italiana, has worked to strengthen the ties between Alitalia-CAI and Air France KLM.”
