The Piaggio Group has sealed an important technical collaboration agreement with the Chinese company Dongan Power - part of the ChangAn-Hafei Group, with offices in Harbin - one of the main manufacturers operating in the Chinese automotive sector.
The agreement is aimed at developing petrol engines for the light commercial vehicles produced by the Piaggio Group in its Italian and Asian plants, as well as at the technological development, in the future, of hybrid and electric engines with low or no environmental impact.
The early fruits of this agreement are new 4-cylinder and 1300cc petrol engines meeting the Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission standards, destined for the Piaggio Porter range of commercial vehicles, also in bi-fuel versions, with low environmental impact.
The agreement between the Piaggio Group and Dongan Power also envisages the possibility of exchanging shared commercial developments and products in their respective areas of business.
