In "service" in the pavilion of the Holy See
Internationally renowned architects have shaped ten chapels in the woods on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, commissioned by the Holy See for its first "pavilion" at the 2018 Venice International Architecture Exhibition, titled Vatican Chapels. A place to meditate in the quiet of the wood, to admire the landscape and the architectural works, between intertwining steel beams and wood. Last May 25, the pavilion was presented at a press conference in the presence of the curator Francesco Dal Co and cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, and therefore open to visitors.
Press and public have thus discovered that on the island of San Giorgio two Piaggio Ape vehicles (by Piaggio Commercial Vehicles) are "in service", both with white livery and the Holy See logo: an Ape Classic in bookshop version on wheels, where books and catalogues are distributed, and an Ape Calessino available to visitors for a tour of ten Vatican Chapels.
The Architecture Biennale 2018 - 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice - opened Saturday, May 26th and will continue until November 25th.
