Piaggio's "Engine Business Unit", located in Pontedera in the province of Pisa, designs, develops, tests ad produces engines suitable for all mobility requirements. We work all over the world with many industrial projects in the field of technology for small engines. By making the most of our network's potential and Piaggio's presence on the market, we think globally whilst acting locally.
The "Engine Business Unit" operates in full conformance with ISO 9001 certification. All the components are carefully tested and the assembly processes are constantly monitored and checked. Finally, the engines themselves undergo tests to check that they work properly, guaranteeing the client the best performance.
Our "Design department" uses the most advanced research and development tools, amongst which 3D CADs and complex algorithms, with the aim of optimising the engines. Thanks to these tools, it is possible to increase productivity and drastically reduce the times for producing and putting the products on the market.
  Our engine research is mainly aimed at reducing pollution and fuel consumption as much as possible. These objectives are pursued through different technical solutions which cover the entire range of Piaggio vehicles: mopeds, scooters, motorcycles, work vehicles, with a range of motor drives from 36 to 600cc.
